So I attended 10 shows during LONDON FASHION WEEK Feb 2011, 7 of which my models were boooked for - so i was extremely excited this year to view all the collections for AW11 & see my models in action! This is a very important step for us since a lot of the designers make their samples for shows at size zero-6, whereas my models average from a healthy size 8-12, there is nothing wrong if your naturally thin, but a lot of these young beautiful ladies are starving themselves & dieting to fit into samples for LFW - this I do not promote or agree with. Not saying all the designers think like this - we saw a lot more curves & healthy looking models on the catwalks this year which was a pleasant surprise especially from some of the big well established designers such as ISSA LONDON. Seriously who out there is a natural size zero and goes to the size zero rail in any of the high street or designer boutiques? I am proud to say all of my models are happy, healthy, confident young ladies, that reflect the old supermodels of the industry with their natural curves & beauty and with whom everyday women can relate with and young girls can look up to as good role models.
On with the collections for AW 11, I have listed photos from the shows with my fave looks and also there is a video i managed to capture whilst supporting my models at all 7 of their shows - all i can say is this year the new & independent labels were amazing with a lot more of a range that us women could wear everyday, nights out etc. Our agency was very happy to support Fashion mavericks at The Strand Hotel 20&21 Feb 2011 showcasing these fabulous designers...
